Plot twist nobody saw coming: Pope Leo XIV and Bad Bunny met in Madrid.
According to Rolling Stone, the Vatican confirmed that the pontiff met the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist, his family, and other guests on Monday evening at Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu stadium. Both were in Spain for their respective world tours.
The Vatican explicitly said no photos from the meetup will be released to the public.
Bad Bunny is in the middle of his 10-night residency in Madrid as part of his global tour supporting his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. It is his first time performing in Spain in eight years. Leo XIV's papal event at the same stadium on Monday drew roughly 80,000 people. Across his various events throughout his 13-month papacy, the pontiff has attracted nearly 2 million in-person spectators.
The Vatican's decision to keep photos under wraps has prompted responses on social media, as the moment fans most wanted documented remains private.
