The Don 3 controversy that rocked Bollywood may have settled, but details continue to emerge. CINTAA President Poonam Dhillon has revealed behind-the-scenes details about her conversations with Ranveer Singh's father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, during the dispute with Excel Entertainment.
Ranveer's father was reportedly unhappy with how FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) handled the matter. "They were not happy with the way FWICE had handled it," Poonam told Variety India, indicating that the family felt the federation's approach missed the mark.
The Singh family never formally approached CINTAA for help. According to Poonam, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani told her they were resolving the issue independently and did not want to burden her. "We didn't involve you because we didn't want to trouble you and we're already in the process of sorting it out," he said.
The dispute began when Excel Entertainment claimed Ranveer backed out of Don 3 after committing, causing financial losses and disrupting long-term planning. FWICE then issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor, sparking industry-wide debate.
Despite the conflict, there was no animosity toward Farhan Akhtar or Excel, according to Poonam. "According to him, there was no animosity from his side towards Farhan Akhtar or the Excel team," she explained. The issue was strictly business.
Now that the directive has been withdrawn and the dispute resolved, Poonam expressed relief. "As an actor and as the President of CINTAA, I'm happy that they've revoked the directive because he definitely didn't deserve it," she said.
