Rolling Stone and Dogfish Head are raising a glass to America's 250th birthday with a collaboration between whiskey lovers and music fans.
The two brands unveiled the Dogfish Head x Rolling Stone Whiskey—a five-year American single malt that blends juice from 12 different barrel types, including rare Samuel Adams Utopias barrels. The whiskey offers caramel sweetness, allspice midpalate, fruity sherry notes, and a smooth citrus finish.
Dogfish Head Founder & Brewer Sam Calagione says this whiskey draws its inspiration from music rather than other whiskeys. "This whiskey's not referencing whiskeys that came before it," he said in a video announcement. "All of its most tangible reference points came from the world of music. So the nuances and layers have all the depth of the most insane Prog Rock album you've ever heard."
Only 900 cases are available worldwide. The collaboration includes a limited-edition merch capsule with unisex tees, baby tees, hoodies, trucker caps, and branded whiskey glasses.
"We're proud of what we created with Dogfish Head and excited to share it with fans at Stateside Music Festival," said Rolling Stone CEO Julian Holguin. "This collaboration brings together craftsmanship, culture, and experience in a way that feels true to both brands."
The whiskey will be available for tasting at Rolling Stone's Stateside Music Festival on July 4, where Dogfish Head will serve it in cocktails alongside beer and spirits. Bottles will also be sold on Dogfish Head's site.
Calagione added: "As fellow music-lovers and defiers of the status quo, Dogfish Head and Rolling Stone share a similar outlook on the world. It's one of exploration, authenticity, and rebellion."
