Forget boring pitch decks and LinkedIn think pieces — Silicon Valley's elite are now settling scores over cards.
Founders Fund, the venture capital firm co-founded by Peter Thiel, has launched MAFIA THE GAME, a new game show where tech's biggest names compete for bragging rights.
The debut episode features OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Palmer Luckey (VR pioneer and Anduril founder), Bryan Johnson (the self-proclaimed immortal biohacker), and Moxie Marlinspike (Signal's encrypted messaging founder).
Mike Solana, Pirate Wires editor and Founders Fund's chief marketing officer, moderates. "I'm so f*cking bored with VC content," Solana told Newcomer. "There has to be a more interesting way to get to know someone, and I think that this is a way more interesting way to get to know someone."
The move reflects a shift in how tech's power players seek attention. Americans spend 2.5 hours daily on social media. OpenAI recently acquired TBPN, the founder-led podcast, while Bryan Johnson and Elon Musk have built personal brands through viral content. Venture capital firms are adopting the same strategy.
Whether MAFIA THE GAME becomes a regular viewing habit or fades remains unclear. But tech's elite are embracing entertainment as a serious tool.
