Steven Spielberg isn't just directing movies about aliens—he's a full-blown believer. The 79-year-old Oscar winner told CBS News he's convinced extraterrestrials have already visited Earth, revealing that after decades of research, documentaries, and Congressional testimonies, "I absolutely think that they have been here, and they are here."

His conviction started early. His father Arnold, an electrical engineer and sci-fi devotee, "put it into my mind that we are not alone," Spielberg explained to E! News ahead of his fifth extraterrestrial film, Disclosure Day. "He wasn't talking about Earth, he was talking about the cosmos."

But Spielberg has never actually seen a UFO himself. "I deserve a sighting," he joked to CBS. "I mean, I'm an ambassador to these guys." His wife Kate Capshaw and their kids are believers too, remaining "very open to the experiences that others have had."

He's far from alone in the celebrity believer camp. Emma Stone, fresh from playing a character mistaken for an alien in Bugonia, came out swinging at the 2025 Venice Film Festival. Channeling astronomer Carl Sagan, the two-time Oscar winner declared it "pretty narcissistic" to assume "we're alone in this vast expansive universe." Her verdict? "I believe in aliens."

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt have both argued that thinking Earth is the only home to intelligent life is pure arrogance. Miley Cyrus believes she had a close encounter herself, describing what she believes was a UFO chase.

Former President Barack Obama weighed in during a podcast in February, though he walked it back on Instagram, clarifying he simply meant "the odds are good there's life out there." No official disclosure day has occurred.
