T.I. didn't just perform at the BET Awards 2026—he commandeered the night, opening the entire ceremony with a performance that reminded everyone exactly why they call him the King of the South.
The Atlanta legend descended onto the Peacock Theater stage in Los Angeles on a literal golden crown. T.I. kicked things off with "Top Back," one of his classic King tracks, before pivoting to his recent chart-dominating single "Let 'Em Know."
For "Let 'Em Know," Tip performed while sitting on top of a car with his own son King behind the driver's wheel. Female dancers in matching outfits waved checkered flags, while additional dancers in Atlanta Braves gear and black hats hyped up the crowd.
T.I. worked the audience like a veteran, stepping into the crowd to vibe with fans while the performance built. He closed with a declaration that sent the room into a frenzy: "It's the king."
T.I.'s "Let 'Em Know," produced by Pharrell Williams and released in January, has been tearing up the Billboard charts. The song marks a significant chapter in T.I.'s career—he has officially announced that his upcoming 12th studio album, "Kill the King," will be his last before he retires from rap.
T.I. was nominated for three awards at this year's ceremony, and based on that performance alone, the night belonged to him.
