Mark your calendars, founders — TechCrunch's Startup Battlefield is returning to Sydney on August 19.

Ten startups will pitch in front of investors, press, and Australia's tech community at Stripe Tour Sydney. The grand winner receives $10,000 in Stripe fee credits and automatic entry into Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco in October — no application required.

The last Battlefield in Sydney was November 2017. Medical student Manuri Gunawardena pitched HealthMatch, a machine learning platform matching patients with clinical trials, and won. The company has since raised over $25 million, backed by Square Peg Capital and SEEK co-founder Paul Bassat, and now serves 1 million patients worldwide.

The runner-up, FluroSat, used hyperspectral imaging to help farmers reduce waste. It landed a Microsoft M12 seed round and later merged to form Regrow Agriculture, which has raised over $60 million with backing from Microsoft, Airtree, and Cargill.

Those two companies alone raised $85 million combined. The entire 2017 class of 26 Battlefield alumni pulled in over $147 million across the cohort, with three successful acquisitions.

August 19. Sydney. One stage. One night.
