Move over, big Bollywood releases — Ali Fazal just made streaming history. His crime drama Raakh has claimed the #1 non-English series spot on Prime Video globally for the second consecutive week, and insiders are calling it the platform's biggest Indian Original debut in two years.

The eight-episode series, which dropped on June 12, is trending at No. 1 across 23 countries and sits in the Top 10 in 60 more. The show explores morality, justice, crime and grief through a fictional crime narrative.

Fazal stars alongside Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir. Produced by Endemol Shine India in association with BhaDiPa and directed by Prosit Roy, the series has resonated with global audiences.

"The response to Raakh has been extraordinary," said Nikhil Madhok, director and head of Originals at Prime Video India. The pitch from creators Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket "evolved into a powerful and emotionally resonant story" that exceeded expectations.

Roy said, "When we first set out to make Raakh, we carried a quiet conviction that audiences were ready for a story that didn't shy away from the weight of tragedy." He credited the entire team and the viewers who "opened their hearts to these characters."
