Angelina Pivarnick's dream of motherhood turned into heartbreak faster than she could have imagined. The 39-year-old Jersey Shore star experienced a devastating pregnancy loss, captured on the show's ninth and final season of Family Vacation.
Just two weeks after revealing she was pregnant on the May 14 episode—complete with a joyful confessional where she said "I am pregnant! I did not think I was going to be able to get pregnant, but wow"—Angelina's health took a concerning turn. By the May 28 episode, she was confiding in costar Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola about spotting and other pregnancy complications.
"I'm just not feeling myself," Angelina admitted in a confessional. "Some stuff's happening with me and my pregnancy and I don't know what's going on and I don't even know what to do."
Sammi, who was also pregnant at the time and has experienced her own pregnancy loss, urged her friend to seek medical help. "When I miscarried—like a chemical pregnancy—I was spotting right away," Sammi revealed, encouraging Angelina to go to the ER for peace of mind.
The pregnancy had arrived as a surprise to Angelina herself. After sharing that she'd purchased sperm from a donor to conceive, she later discovered the pregnancy happened naturally. "There's no sperm donor now!" she told cameras, celebrating what she thought was her miracle moment.
Sammi, who welcomed her son Vincent nine months earlier with husband Justin May, had been by Angelina's side for that initial pregnancy test. "I got chills," Sammi had said at the time. "I'm gonna cry for you."
The loss will air as Jersey Shore Family Vacation wraps its ninth and final season, giving fans an intimate look at Angelina's fertility journey.
