Fresh off the success of It Ends With Us, Colleen Hoover is expanding her romance-to-screen production slate. According to Deadline, the author-turned-producer is bringing Ali Hazelwood's New York Times bestseller Love, Theoretically to Amazon MGM Studios.
Hoover is producing alongside her Heartbones Entertainment partner Lauren Levine, with Max Siemers and Tanner Anderson from Magic Hour Entertainment also attached to the project.
Sofia Alvarez, who directed Along for the Ride, is directing the rom-com. Alvarez has experience capturing the emotional depth that makes Hazelwood's novels engaging.
Love, Theoretically follows a brilliant physicist navigating love, ambition, and second chances. The story combines emotional stakes, witty banter, and slow-burn chemistry.
Hoover's production slate includes multiple deals with publishers and streaming platforms. Hoover has built a significant business around adaptations of romance fiction.
With Hazelwood's fanbase and Hoover's track record with It Ends With Us, Love, Theoretically enters development as one of several anticipated romance adaptations in the market.
