Pitch Perfect's Flula Borg and CODA Oscar winner Troy Kotsur have officially wrapped production on The American Winner, a satirical horror film, according to Deadline.

The LA-shot project marks the feature directorial debut of Iranian writer-director Farbod Ardebili and comes from production companies Bad Grey and Plain Text. Borg plays a megalomaniacal tech billionaire who manipulates markets while chaos unfolds around him.

Borg's range extends from Pitch Perfect's comic relief to compelling character work. Kotsur commanded every scene in CODA and established himself as a significant actor. The two bring serious indie credibility to the project.

Ardebili's vision is a satirical take on American excess, tech obsession, and billionaire culture filtered through a horror lens. A director willing to lean into the terror of these subjects could appeal to audiences tired of dark comedy treatments alone.

The film joins a growing wave of horror that skewers Silicon Valley excess and the cult of personality surrounding tech titans. With Borg and Kotsur leading, expect something both unsettling and sharp.

No release date has been announced yet, but given the pedigree involved and early buzz, the film will likely appear on festival circuits come fall.
