DaBaby can finally put a controversial chapter behind him. A civil lawsuit accusing the rapper of starting a brawl inside a Los Angeles bowling alley has been settled, according to court documents filed Friday with the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Brandon Curiel—who performs under the stage name Brandon Bill$—sued DaBaby (born Jonathan Kirk) in February 2022 after an alleged altercation at Corbin Bowl. The case named the "BOP" rapper, the Zeus Network, a security company, and the bowling alley itself as defendants and was scheduled to go to trial in October.

The settlement was reached without public disclosure of terms. Neither Curiel's nor DaBaby's representatives offered details to Rolling Stone.

The original lawsuit alleged DaBaby physically assaulted Curiel, causing him "severe injury." According to court documents, tension had been building: DaBaby had allegedly been publicly humiliating his ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh (who shares a daughter with him) on social media before the bowling alley incident.

Court transcripts describe an aggressive encounter. Kirk allegedly approached Curiel at the alley and threatened him. "I just want to slap you up a bit," Kirk reportedly told Curiel. "I just want to slap you around a little bit."

The case lasted over four years—a costly legal battle neither side apparently wanted to risk before a jury. By settling now, both avoided a potentially damaging trial and kept any payout confidential.

DaBaby has faced multiple legal problems in recent years, but this dispute is resolved.
