Fresh off her breakout turn on Gossip Girl, Grace Duah is joining Cocoa Doll, a body horror feature that has been picked up for global sales representation by Fearfolks, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The Bangkok-based genre label, founded by Hans Audric B. Estialbo and Benetone Films, is backing the project. This is the feature directorial debut of Muslim-Nigerian filmmaker Jumai Yusuf, whose screenplay previously earned recognition on the Muslim List.

Duah's move into body horror differs from her television work. The genre has grown in recent years, with audiences seeking unsettling, thought-provoking cinema that departs from conventional storytelling. Cocoa Doll appears to fit that mold.

With Fearfolks handling global sales, the film has international potential. The label has built a reputation for championing genre films that find audiences worldwide.

Yusuf's directorial debut with a high-profile cast member signals confidence in her vision. Duah's willingness to lead a debut feature from an emerging female director of colour is a notable career choice.

No release date or footage timeline has been announced yet for Cocoa Doll.
