Mick Jagger is ready to rock again—he's just not ready to do it this year.
The Rolling Stones legend confirmed during an interview with BBC Radio 2 alongside bandmate Ronnie Wood that a tour is definitely planned. "I'd love to go on tour. I can't wait," Jagger said. "I don't think it's going to be this year. But hopefully it's going to be as soon as possible."
The announcement follows reports that the band scrapped plans for a U.K. and European stadium tour in 2026. Last January, outlets reported the Stones had turned down multiple summer offers due to venue logistics, travel complications, and other commitments.
The band is releasing a new album, Foreign Tongues, on July 10—their first since 2023's Hackney Diamonds. Recorded at Metropolis Studios in West London with producer Andrew Watt, the project features Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of the Cure, and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith.
The album also includes an appearance from late drummer Charlie Watts, recorded during one of his final sessions before his death in 2021.
Jagger's last major tour with the band concluded in 2024 in support of Hackney Diamonds, with 20 North American shows and a production that included rehearsals of over 60 songs from their catalog.
While 2026 is off the table, fans can expect the Stones back on stage sooner rather than later. For now, Foreign Tongues arrives July 10.
