Paramount's K-pop drama is getting a fresh coat of paint. According to Deadline, the studio has retitled its Benson Lee-directed film from K-Pop Superstar: The Movie to K-Pop: The Debut and moved it two weeks later in the calendar.

The film now opens February 26, 2027, instead of February 12. The shift places Paramount's K-pop film in a crowded weekend. Warner Bros. is releasing Panic Carefully, a psychological thriller directed by Mr. Robot's Sam Esmail and starring Julia Roberts and Eddie Redmayne. Sony has a family drama in the same corridor.

The retitle may signal that Paramount is adjusting its positioning for a competitive release window. Whether K-Pop: The Debut holds or the studio is testing audience response remains unclear.

February 26, 2027, is the new date. What the K-pop film will do against the competition is still an open question.
