Apple Original Films is adding Paul Sparks and Ava Threat to its upcoming sci-fi thriller Liminal. Deadline reports exclusively that the two actors have joined the cast alongside leads Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Director Louis Leterrier is helming the film, which is based on J. Michael Straczynski's graphic novel Telepaths, an Eisner Award winner. The source material has proven capable of reaching both comic book readers and mainstream audiences.

Liminal is a sci-fi action-thriller that draws on Straczynski's premise. The repeated casting announcements suggest production is accelerating. With Leterrier directing and Straczynski's graphic novel as source material, the project has emerged as one of Apple's more ambitious releases for 2026 and beyond.

Apple has been expanding its slate of premium original films in recent years, positioning itself as a destination for event-style content. Liminal fits that strategy. Further casting and release date announcements are expected.
