The CBFC cleared Peddi with a U/A 16+ certificate on May 22, but imposed several cuts. According to Bollywood Hungama, the Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor film releases June 4.
The board required modification of Telugu profanities including 'M***r C**d', 'Lambdi kodaka', 'Bokka', and 'Dongamunda kodaka'. The words 'Saruku saman' in the 'Chikiri Chikiri' song also required modification.
In the second half, the censor board demanded deletion of the word 'Rajasthan' and a reference to a community. A middle finger shot was required to be covered with CG visuals.
No major visual cuts were imposed on the action sequences. Ram Charan's wrestling and pehelwan fight sequences—shot with real wrestlers—remain largely intact. Ram Charan revealed at the trailer launch that he suffered a cartilage tear during these sequences.
Peddi runs 3 hours and 9 minutes. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani alongside Ram Charan and Janhvi. A.R. Rahman composed the music, and Jio Studios is handling North India distribution. The film will release in IMAX format as well.
Peddi releases June 4.
