Carrie Coon discussed her marriage to playwright Tracy Letts on a 2025 episode of the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, offering a candid look at how the couple handles attraction and trust. The White Lotus star said possessiveness plays no role in their relationship.
"We're not jealous people," Coon said. "So it's nice to be in a relationship where we can always talk about, like, 'Who are you attracted to on set?'"
The couple does not avoid discussions of attraction. Coon revealed that Tracy "notices every single woman on the street" and tells her about his crushes. "We love talking about it. It's fun," she said.
Coon and Letts met in 2010 while rehearsing Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?—a play that earned Coon her first Tony nomination and Tracy his second win. On a 2020 episode of PeopleTV's Couch Surfing, Coon recalled: "I was in a relationship when I met Tracy and so was he. But I think to anyone who was in the room with us, it was really obvious that there was something inevitable that was going to happen."
They married in 2013. The night before their planned courthouse ceremony, Tracy had his gallbladder removed, so a hospital chaplain performed the ceremony in his room instead.
The couple now shares two kids—son Haskell (born 2018) and a daughter born in 2021. According to E! Online, Coon explained that "the irresistible job is always the one we accommodate," meaning they adjust their schedules around each other's major roles.
Coon's approach to her marriage reflects a relationship built on trust rather than control.
