Jack Depp is doing his own thing—and it has nothing to do with the red carpet. The 24-year-old son of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis was spotted in a rare public outing while directing his debut feature film in Paris on June 25.
Dressed casually in a gray tee, blue cutoff shorts, and chunky belt, Jack was in director mode on set—headset on, dark sunglasses hanging from his collar. A pig tattoo on his forearm was visible as he huddled with collaborators, focused on the film.
This is not his first film project. He has already directed three short films alongside creative partner Dexter Demme, including "Tug of War," which starred Gina Gershon and premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival. Last year, Jack and Dexter announced they were writing their first feature, telling Director's Notes: "Since this is our third short film, currently we are writing our first feature, and hope to start prep/shooting in the near future."
Before pivoting to filmmaking, Jack kept a deliberately low profile—working as a server and bartender at L'Area, a Lebanese restaurant in Paris, for the last two years. "Jack is a great guy," owner Edouard Chueke told the Daily Mail. "He keeps out of the limelight."
Johnny has said he was "quite relieved" that his son "hasn't shown any desire to become an actor." Raised partially in France, Jack has found his creative calling behind the camera.
His sister Lily-Rose has embraced the spotlight as an actress and model, while Jack has been building a directing portfolio through short films.
